The Great PB& J Challenge

Do you make a mean PB & J ??

I am calling all home cooks and chefs looking for a fun way to do good, feed kids, and earn a golden ticket to the 2024 World Food Championships!!! You do not have to be present to participate. Read requirement #7 below to see how you join in even if you are out of state!

ENTRY DEADLINE APRIL 20th

Purpose of The Great PB&J Challenge:

To raise funds and awareness for children living with food insecurity and to support La Tiendita, East McKinney's Non-Profit Grocery.

I repeat - You do not have to be present to participate. Read requirement #7 below to see how you join in even if you are out of state!

Challenge Rules

1)Should you accept this challenge you will be required to make two stellar PB&J sandwiches. The winning sandwiches will be on the menu at La Tiendita so make sure your sandwich is kid-friendly and one that can easily be made by a teenager, since students from ATLAST will be making them.

2)One sandwich will be made for presentation purposes and one to be divided into 4 equal sections for judging.

3)You must submit your full recipe with all products used and instructions for the creation of your sandwich by 12:00pm, APRIL 20th, 2023

4)You will be required to purchase and use any flavor of The Jelly Queens jelly or jam for the day of the challenge - practice will any brand you want - but check out all of the flavors available first

You may even ask for a custom flavor to be made for you. Email donna@thejellyqueen.com. Please feel free to stop by The Jelly Queens at 305 West Louisiana Street, McKinney, Texas to choose your jelly.

5)You will be required to purchase and use bread from House of Bread for the day of the challenge - practice with any brand you want - but check out all of the flavors they make first because their bread will spark your imagination. Please feel free to stop by House of Bread at 7551 Eldorado Pkwy. McKinney, Texas to choose your bread.

6)You may use any brand of organic nut or seed butter you choose and must submit the company and flavor of the nut butter in your sandwich description with your entry fee.

7)If you are a long-distance competitor, you will be required to send full, detailed instructions for your sandwich build-out and The Jelly Queens, WFC, and Gracepoint Church volunteers will build your sandwich in your name! Or you can choose someone from the DFW area to represent you.

The entry fee is $35.00

All competitors cover the cost of all ingredients.
